Industri listrik menentukan besar fasor dalam hal nilai rms daripada nilai puncaknya. Sebagai contoh, 220 V yang tersedia pada setiap perumahan adalah nilai rms tegangan dari perusahaan listrik.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hal ini menjadi praktis dalam analisa daya untuk menyatakan tegangan dan arus dengan nilai rms.
